Belfast

The Dargan Road Landfill facility is approximately 3.7 kilometres from Belfast City Centre on the North Foreshore of Belfast Lough. The site covers an area of 340 acres and has been filled with refuse since 1973. The refuse produces gases that would, at one time, have been burned through flare stacks and released into the atmosphere. Technological advancements in recent years have seen the development of highly efficient generators that will run on the landfill gas and produce electricity for the local infrastructure for many years. To harness the gas in this way is better for the environment and the local community. Our part in this project was to arrange the off loading and positioning of five containerised generator sets, weighing in at 34 tonnes each, from transport and positioning on pre prepared plinths along with all associated components. Our installation team subsequently fixed the components, including, radiators,  pipework and silencers, in readiness for our clients commissioning crew. The work was completed in the agreed timescale.
